Beach Trip

The last few weeks when we've been having unseasonably dry sunny weather here I've always looked at the beach forecast. Darn that beach forecast has always been warmer than here. I've been battling a cold that just doesn't want to go away, makes me think it is, then comes back with vengeance... anyway, if it's going to hang around it might as well hang around at the beach! Yesterday was supposed to be the perfect beach day, and in winter, in Oregon. My dad and Kaye decided the beach sounded like a good idea too so we met up in Seaside before heading into Cannon Beach for lunch at Mo's, then on to the sand to play, and finally finishing with some ice cream (or a donut if you're Samantha) in town before driving home. It was a beautiful day, I just couldn't get over the weather. I love where we live!

My dad enjoying the water

Audrey went for a walk to the water with Grandma and Papa

Cold water, but the sun was nice and warm

The water came up a little faster than Grandma was ready for.

She just wanted to watch the water, play with the shovel in the sand, and chase bubbles

Her first beach experience since she was 3 months old. Happy in her sandals, did not like barefoot.

Sam always takes some time to warm up. She finally got into the idea of running around barefoot, loved it, then got excited to go see the water.

She ran back and forth...

Josh told her when the water came to run... instead of running she fell down backwards into the sand. Whoops.

Water all the way up her backside.

Luckily after stripping off one layer, she went back to the water and threw some rocks with Grandma. Dry clothes awaited her in the car.

Picture Time

I had to do a quick photo session of the girls a couple weeks ago, partly for Audrey's 18 month milestone and also then for Samantha's 4 year birthday. Of course Sam was fine, Audrey not so much. I thought trying to take pictures of a one year old Sam was tough... haha, little did I really know what was yet to come. Audrey looking at me, staying still, smiling... let alone all at the same time?! I got a few ok shots, but then again the timing in the day was all wrong, the set up was wrong, the lighting was awful. Not my best shoot by far, but still some managed to be worthy enough to share. The subjects are still cute at least.

Goofballs, but at least they're both looking at me. The only one of the day.

Wish my lighting was better here, she's so cute when she's quiet.

She really wanted to wear her "Go Ducks" dress.

Oh those thighs!

Happy Birthday Wayne

Happy Birthday to the best Father in Law a girl could ask for! Don't let Elvis' 80th birthday take away from your 67th, but enjoy, I'm sure that's one hell of a party! Have your cake and eat it too!

Samantha Singing

Samantha loves singing, she will let it go, pun intended for various songs. All songs from Frozen, Happy, of course the ABC's, Row Row, etc... since she watched The Polar Express a few times over the holiday season the new song of the day(s) is Billy's song from the movie, The Best Time of the Year. Catch it below. You have to turn the volume up, she isn't too loud when she's being watched, only when she's alone does she let this song go loudly.

Starting Clean

The girls can be pretty funny in the bath. Josh gives them bathes and I get their hair brushed when he's done. Our guest bathroom is pretty small so I don't often see bath time but hear giggles. I joined in this time with my camera. Apparently Audrey enjoys licking the soap off of herself. Sigh, goof.
