Beach Trip

The last few weeks when we've been having unseasonably dry sunny weather here I've always looked at the beach forecast. Darn that beach forecast has always been warmer than here. I've been battling a cold that just doesn't want to go away, makes me think it is, then comes back with vengeance... anyway, if it's going to hang around it might as well hang around at the beach! Yesterday was supposed to be the perfect beach day, and in winter, in Oregon. My dad and Kaye decided the beach sounded like a good idea too so we met up in Seaside before heading into Cannon Beach for lunch at Mo's, then on to the sand to play, and finally finishing with some ice cream (or a donut if you're Samantha) in town before driving home. It was a beautiful day, I just couldn't get over the weather. I love where we live!

Audrey went for a walk to the water with Grandma and Papa

Cold water, but the sun was nice and warm

The water came up a little faster than Grandma was ready for.

She just wanted to watch the water, play with the shovel in the sand, and chase bubbles

Her first beach experience since she was 3 months old. Happy in her sandals, did not like barefoot.

Sam always takes some time to warm up. She finally got into the idea of running around barefoot, loved it, then got excited to go see the water.

She ran back and forth...

Josh told her when the water came to run... instead of running she fell down backwards into the sand. Whoops.

Water all the way up her backside.

Luckily after stripping off one layer, she went back to the water and threw some rocks with Grandma. Dry clothes awaited her in the car.
