Annual Pumpkins w/ The Manson's

Every year since we get together with our awesome friends and go to get pumpkins. We usually go to The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie's Island. This year however the idea was to go somewhere close on the south side and then head to the Annual Pumpkin Regatta in Tualatin. We went to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival Pumpkin Festival. We won't be doing that again. They had some activities for the kids, and we got lunch (huge portions) but they were lacking in one thing... PUMPKINS! There is a picture below of what they consider a pumpkin patch... sad. The kids were happy however to ride the cow train, and go for a hayride. We did end up coming home with pumpkins... mostly taken from the tractor, activity area, and tables. Lol. Goodness. We planned on hitting up another patch at some point during the month but between weather and illnesses it didn't happen. Oh well. Next year.

Samantha's First Duck's Game

The third football game of the year, Samantha got to go to Eugene and see Autzen Stadium for the first time. My dad and I had to pleasure of taking her. It was the Georgia State game so not one we were too worried about, and early enough in the year that it was dry and sunny. It was an 11:00 am start. She had to get up early but once we got my dad she was ready to go. She brought her Go Ducks book and when we got close enough to see Autzen she treated the book like a map and showed us where we were. It was very cute. She was very excited about being there, seeing the Duck out by the back of the Mo when he was on his way inside (we caught him for a pic quickly when we weren't supposed to, but really who can say no to Samantha?) Then she of course was thrilled to get to see not only the cheerleaders in general, but her favorite, Dylan. Sam has been fond of Dylan for a couple years. She's a senior on the stunt squad and comes to Willamette Valley each year for the Civil War party, and is from Canby and worked at the club so she knows my dad and Kaye. She gives Sam special attention and Sam thinks they're best friends. It's too cute. Then it was game time... and that's where Sam's excitement stopped. Lol.

She liked watching the Duck ride out onto the field, and the flag for the National Anthem... but all the noise, and the fact that it was an 11 am game, she was tired from getting up early to get to Eugene around 9 am. She managed to watch the first half from our seats with the help of some water and a big pretzel. At halftime we walked around a bit and then watched part of the third quarter from the walkway on the other side of the stadium before taking off for the car. It was a long day for Sam, and we had a comfortable lead (although we didn't even look good in that game) plus then we avoided all traffic on the way home. I'm glad I got to be there for Samantha's first Duck game, and loved that we got to make it a 3 generations of Ducks day.

Berger Family Reunion Game 2015

We were planning on doing this years game on the beach, but due to the strong winds we wet up on the grass outside our rooms at Tolovana Inn. The game was something I saw on Facebook and thought was funny, shared with Josh, who then shared with Pat. Because it might throw some people off balance we added ladder golf as a second game as well. The trophies were presented for the winners of last years Lawn Darts, Eric and I got ours and I'm already trying to find a place to put it in the new house.

Ladder golf was first, but I don't have any pictures of that. We draw names randomly and I was paired with Samantha, and we managed to win! Lol. She threw from closer up, but we still managed to come away with the win. She is excited about getting a trophy with her name on it next  year.

Now onto the main event. I had to demonstrate how to do it, which I hadn't ever done yet, but somehow I made it look easy. It was not! The wind really threw the whole game off, but it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. The whole idea was to put some pantyhose on your head, with a tennis ball in the toe of one of the pantyhose legs. Then you try to knock over 3 water bottles. Really. Try it.
