Our baby girl, who let's face it was never really small to begin with, is really not small now! She's 2 months old and off the charts with her length and weight. While length is always hard to measure her weight was spot on, while naked. She's a big girl. She loves to smile and has started tracking things. She mostly loves to watch the kitty and loves her big sister. Anytime Sam is near Audrey just watches her and smiles.
People ask us what kind of baby she is, and its really funny to think about. The truth is she is more difficult than Sam was, but with that being said, Sam was also a super easy baby. Audrey fusses more and spits up more, but otherwise is great. She's been sleeping in her crib in her room since just before 8 weeks. She tends to fall asleep around 9 or 9:30 and sleep until 5 or 6, so we couldn't ask for much more. Sam was pretty good at going back to sleep after her 5am bottle, Audrey is hit or miss. Which only sucks since I'm not currently working. The other part that makes it difficult to compare Sam and Audrey is the weather. With Sam being born in the middle of winter we could wrap her up and hold her all the time and she loved it. With Audrey, she loves to be held, but without air conditioning we tend to pass her off or put her in the bouncer or on her playmat more, and she's never swaddled during the day. Plus, having a 2 year old already, my small amount of patience I was born with dwindles on some days, but that's not Audrey, that's just life!
At her doctors appointment this week the doctor was telling us all the things she'll be able to do coming up. Each one he said she then demonstrated, it was pretty funny. She'll start to smile... queue Audrey smiling back at him. She'll start hold her head up for longer... right on queue she sits there holding her head up the entire time. He said some babies like to stand... she did. She has the strongest legs ever. As long as you keep her from falling from or back she can hold herself up on her legs. She has also rolled over a handful of times. Once at only a few weeks old, and then over the last 6 days she's done it 3 more times. She loves her tummy but loves rolling herself over even more at times. It will be fun to continue watching her grow and learn and see how she compares to her older sister. (We are stealing a line from Pat and calling Sam the older sister now, and Audrey the baby, or younger sister... it appears she might be the taller one, as Josh is with Matt)
