Pumpkin Patch 2014

We have always been so lucky since having kids, each year we plan to go to the pumpkin patch with the Manson's we end up roaming around the fields in the bright warm sunshine. This year we didn't have the bright warm sunshine, but it wasn't too cold, wasn't raining, so it's a win in our books! We rode the tractor out to the pumpkin patch, Sam's favorite part, and she got to pick out her pumpkin, Audrey did the same, and then Josh and I got one bigger one, and one small one to see if we can carve later. Sam also then saw the little ones back by the parking lot, and we ended up taking 6 home. Sam also got to ride the cow train (with mom) and see some animals in the barn, play on some hay, and run around a bit. Always a fun time for sure.

Family Photo Shoot!

I decided it was finally time to do a real family photo shoot. We haven't had photos taken since we've become a family of four. A girl I went to high school with has 2 kids the same age as Audrey and Samantha and we've reconnected over the last few years via Facebook. She has a love of photography and has started taking photos for people. So I thought she would be a good person to go to since she is totally my style of photographer, and it's always more comfortable when it's someone you know. We met up last weekend at Memorial Park in Wilsonville because there's a cool barn there I wanted to use for a backdrop. We thought the surroundings would look more fall like, but the leaves were all still green, and on the trees. Oh well. We had great sunny weather, which actually isn't totally great for photography because of the bright sun, but we found some nice shade spots. By the time the shoot was over at 11 am we were warm! (We dressed for autumn photos, not an 80 degree day!) Since we were at a park Sam got to play a bit before we left, and she loved the big slide. We'll be back for sure. I snapped a few pictures in between shoots, of course. I have one preview picture from our photographer, but won't be getting the rest until next month. We'll all have to wait until then! Enjoy these for now!

Josh waiting for this family... I don't think these photos turned out... Audrey was over it by this point.

Audrey went running to Sam... who hugged, and then let go... Momentum's a bitch.

Sam's big slide. We actually did a photo of all 4 of us going down the slide together.

Just done, sweater off, playing in the bark chips

This swing looked more like a torture device with Sam in it.

Sam Starts Soccer

Sam started playing soccer this fall... or should I say, got a shirt with her name on it, shows up, runs around a little bit, gets out of the way when the ball comes to her, and then get excited at the end when it's time for a snack. She likes kicking the ball, but the YMCA is a very loud place, and a lot of kids all running towards the same ball is a bit much for her at this point. Still good to see her run around with kids her own age, and just get involved in something.
