Pics

Dying Easter eggs for the first time in years... Audrey spilled the pink cup all over the table, herself and me. Fail. Sam got tired of waiting and was over it quickly.

One of those mornings, with the moon still out.

She had a boo boo so she kissed it herself.

Cleaning day

Poor baby struggles sometimes and passes out on us, Sam almost never did.

Skipping with Papa Rick after breakfast

Big girl tried the potty a couple times, first time was a success! Now just a novelty for her.

Sam was so proud

Sunny day at the park

Sam thought the video of the men in space looked like they were in the washing machine. Goof.

At the tulip festival

The kids area of the tulip festival, pony time, Audrey was super happy, it was nuts!

Audrey just goes right for it with dinner when she has an appetite... which is not now of course.

And Audrey stole Samantha's new hat.

Mommy's colorful lunch

We went to Peter Rabbit Breakfast at West Linn High School a couple weeks ago. Sam loved it, Audrey was frustrated she couldn't do all the things for bigger kids. Audrey also didn't want anything to do with having her picture taken, but still wanted to check out the rabbit.
Audrey playing one of the games at the breakfast... and freaking out of course.

Easter 2015

Easter was a busy day, as it is every year, but also fun, which it seems to be every year as well. We start the day getting out the door and off to church to "see grandma work". Sam made it as far as the children's sermon before she asked to go play in the playroom (nursery) which was filled with older kids so it was nice to not have to sit in there with her so she wasn't alone. Audrey used every distraction we could think of, and between mom, dad, sister, Uncle Matt, Grandma Kaye, and Papa Eric she lasted the entire time, not always happy, but she made it through the whole service. She tried to sing during songs and would shout out something and then put her finger to her own mouth and "shhhh" herself. Goofball.

After church we headed to Kaye's family side for our annual egg hunt and dinner. We've been doing egg hunts since I first joined the family 20 years ago, and I was the youngest of the kids. We've continued them wherever we are even as only adults. It's a blast, no hold, all out fun. This year we had almost 300 items in my aunts yard. The kids got a quick one minute head start and then off we went. We (I) managed to clean up and Sam and Audrey (and Josh and myself) are set with candy until Halloween. Then the traditional trade for favorite candies with the cousins before settling in for food and watching the rain move in and pour just as the girls all came in from blowing bubbles in the yard. It was nice to have some family in town from Idaho. I wish they lived here, those girls are great with our girls and would babysit in a heartbeat! We had 23 people, from age 4 weeks to... older and were only missing 4 people out of town.

All in all a fun day, we avoided the rain at all the right times and even managed a mostly dry drive home which was nice from Troutdale. I still however hate holiday's on Sundays. Made for a quick turnaround to work Monday morning.

Easter Baskets for the girls

How the first half of church looked

When you're the pastors grandchildren you sit next to her for the Children's Sermon... the other kids sitting didn't seem to mind.

Bubbles fun with cousin Tegan.

I love that when given the choice Audrey picked this dress, the same one Sam wore for Easter 2 years ago.

Contemplating her next move.

So glad the rain held off long enough

It was a boots day

Growing up fast / stats!

So we had a double doctor's appointment, the last one the girls will have together. Audrey's next will be her 2 year and after that it's once a year. Last month Audrey had her 18 (19) month check, and Sam had her 4 year check. Audrey didn't have any shots, but Sam had a couple and boy was she not happy about it. She did like her strawberry smooie (smoothie) from the smooie house (Dutch Bros) after we left however.

Sam weighed in at 40 pounds even for the 85th percentile, and measured 41 1/2 inches putting her at the 90th percentile. We knew she had been stretching out, but she's getting big!

Audrey weighed in at 32 pounds 4 ounces, of course above the 95th percentile as they say, and measured 35 1/2 inches, also off the charts. I beg to differ with the height measurement however. We'll see how she does at her 2 year check up when she can finally do the standing measurement instead of wrestling a wiggling baby flat to measure. Either way, it looks like I have a couple tall girls on my hands, for now at least.

More pictures from over the last month or so. The girls have been adjusting well to being in school 3 days a week, all day. Of course they haven't been there together much since it seems like one or both is always sick. Over the last 2 months and counting at least one person in the house has been fighting some bug... colds, pink eye, stomach bugs with trouble coming out of both ends... Poor girls. Right now Sam is hanging onto a bit of a cough, Audrey has a slight fever, runny nose and cough, and I have a runny nose as well. I'm so ready for this cold season to be over, it's been the worst one yet!

Ready for Sam's birthday party

Can't put the book down, even for a diaper change

She looks huge in there now

She wanted to be done at the doctor's office

Happy First Birthday Caitlyn
