Samantha and Shoes...

It's a work in progress at the very least. After Samantha started walking regularly we tried to put shoes on her. She never really liked them when she was little little, but to wear them while she's now aware of her feet... forget it. I love this sequence... and yes, it has gotten better since this try.

Get these things off my feet!

I'll try it myself!

Ok they're off, but I can still see them so I will still cry

Ohh, Cheerios

Ok, so after that wonderful experience just over a week ago we tried again a couple days ago, but this time with the flexible Robeez. They were just slightly too big, but better than too small. Her feet are bigger than I thought... those darn toes always curl under so I guess that threw me off. (That also might have been why she hated some shoes, too small) I measured her foot to make sure this time. Like I said they were a bit big, but she warmed up to them. Of course now we have to get another pair and of course Robeez aren't exactly the cheapest of shoes. Here's the sequence once she decided shoes weren't the worst thing in the world. Until she fell, then she wanted them off again.

Ya, I can do it

Still not sure, but still moving

Uh oh, going down!

Barefoot at the Park

So... Samantha now loves to walk everywhere. Scratch that, almost everywhere. Last weekend we took her to the park for the first time since she's been walking. Since she doesn't love, like, tolerate wearing shoes we went barefoot (and since it was amazingly gorgeous outside!) Even then the grass between her toes freaked her out. The second we put her down she wanted back up, she wouldn't move her feet. It was funny, but weird. I guess since she was such an easy baby we're finding odd things we never knew we'd have to deal with now. She eventually took a few steps while holding onto dad, but other than that would rather be held to look around.

Videos

I've been trying to get more video lately of Samantha for those that don't get to see her a lot. Pictures are great, but watching a moving girl sometimes is just better. So here are a couple videos from the last couple days. Just walking, and dancing. She loves Ellen and starts dancing when she hears the music. Usually she's just standing in the middle of the room dancing, today she was holding onto her baby gate and letting loose!
